International Writers Program holds five events

In the next nine days, the International Writing Program will hold five free public events.

On Sept. 7 at 7 p.m., Milosz Biedrzycki will read from his poetry, and H.M. Naqvi will read from his début novel, Home Boy, at Prairie Lights Books, 15 S. Dubuque St.

On Sept. 9, the IWP and the Writers' Workshop will present Irish poets Seamus Cashman and Joan McBreen at Prairie Lights. The event will take place at 7 p.m.

On Sept. 10, a panel discussion "A Sense of Place" will be held at noon in the Iowa City Public Library's Meeting Room A, 123 S. Linn St. The panel will include Ian Rosales, Laura Fish, Albana Shala, Ismail Bala, and pizza will be provided. At 5 p.m. in Shambaugh House, Christopher Kloeble of Germany and Turusbek Madilbay of Kyrgyzstan will read.

At 4 p.m. Sept. 12, Edgar Calabia Samar of the Philippines and Fish, from England, will read in Prairie Lights.
