Rowing ventures to California

The No. 17 Iowa rowing team will travel to California for the eighth-annual Pac-10 Challenge beginning on Saturday.

Top-ranked Stanford will host the Pac-10 at Redwood Shores in Redwood City, Calif.

The Hawkeyes will race No. 3 California-Berkley, No 15. Oregon State, and the No. 1-ranked Cardinal on before taking on the Golden Bears once again and No 11. Washington this weekend.

Two varsity 8s will compete each day for the Hawkeyes, along with one varsity 4 and a novice 8.
Iowa last competed on Lady Bird Lake at the Longhorn Invitational in Austin, Texas, on March 19 — winning all four races against Louisville and Kansas State.

The Iowa’s varsity 8 boat for the Longhorn Invitational included Sheila Rinozzi, Emily Vinson, Caitlin Kuempel, Jessica Novack, Emily Katalinich, Megan Erickson, Katy Kroll, Christine Allingham, and Allison Robinson.
