GOP won’t win Congress

In response to Jonathan Groves’ portion of the March 26 opinions piece, “Thoughts on Obama’s visit from a health-care reform supporter and opponent,” I disagree on the public perception of the health-care reform bill. I admire your commitment to working for your beliefs through the electoral process, though. That is the American way. It is what inspired me to work so hard to get Obama nominated and elected after eight socially conservative but fiscally profligate years under President George W. Bush.

One thing that can not be argued, though, is numbers. I encourage you to look at the election schedule for members of Congress. I think you will agree that it is a near mathematical impossibility for Republicans or Tea Party candidates to win a majority in the next election. I then encourage you to submit your correction to the DI and let us know your plan B, including what you wish to “replace” Congress’ plan with.
