Police charged an Iowa City man with his fourth OWI after he reportedly crashed his vehicle.

Craig Fredericks, 52, 38 Wakefield Court, was charged with OWI on Feb. 12 after a collision on Scott Boulevard, police reports show.

Fredericks allegedly left BlackStone Restaurant and Bar, 503 Westbury Drive, in a red Dodge van after stumbing out of the parking lot. He was then reportedly involved in a collision at the intersection of Scott Boulevard and Muscatine Road.

According to Iowa City police, Fredericks had red watery eyes, a strong odor of alcohol, slurred speech, stumbling balance, and admitted to drinking and driving.

He also reportedly refused further field sobriety and blood alcohol level tests after failing an initial test.

He has three prior OWI convictions, the most recent on Jan. 6, 2006.

Third-offense or more OWI is a Class D felony generally punishable by up to five years in prison and a maximum fine of up to $9,375.
