Police arrested a Coralville man early Monday and charged him with operating while intoxicated after officers reportedly found him passed out behind the wheel, according to the Coralville police.

Officers charged Mathew Lynn, 39, with third-offense OWI, a Class D felony, around 3:20 a.m.

According to the police report, Lynn was passed out behind the wheel of a gray Toyota Camry at the intersection of Coral Ridge Avenue and Commerce Drive.

The vehicle was turned off, and the keys were removed by another person who was afraid Lynn would attempt to drive away, according to a police report.

Lynn had blood-alcohol concentration of 0.231 and allegedly admitted to drinking four beers before driving. He had bloodshot, watery eyes, and slurred speech, police said.

The legal limit for driving in Iowa is 0.08.
