Iowa City police arrested a man after he allegedly fondled a woman while she was sleeping.

Matthew Banker, 20, 426 S. Dodge St., was charged with third-degree sexual abuse.

The woman woke up after feeling a male insert his finger into her vagina, according to reports. When she woke up and realized Banker was not her boyfriend, she screamed. Banker allegedly ran out of the room, dropping his cell phone on the ground.

According to reports, Banker admitted to digitally fondling the victim and apologized repeatedly.

Third-degree sexual abuse is a Class C felony and is generally punishable by 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
