Woman charged with possession of pseudoephedrine

An Iowa City woman was arrested after drugs and a recipe to manufacture meth were allegedly found in her home.

Christine Schonberg, 44, 1822 Flatiron Ave., was charged with possession of pseudophedrine.

According to police, Schonberg purchased two bags of pseudophedrine. While executing a search warrant, police allegedly found the purchased drugs along with lithium batteries, additional pseudoephedrine, and a recipe for manufacturing meth. According to police records, Schonberg’s boyfriend told police she purchases pseudoephedrine to exchange for meth.

Possession of pseudophedrine is a Class D felony and is generally punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $7,500.
