Strong winds on Tuesday afternoon blew over a light post on Iowa Avenue. Traffic was quickly blocked off, and a Cambus avoided the light post by driving around it using the sidewalk.

Shoplifting has increased both nationwide and in Iowa City — the Iowa City Police report 123 incidents between January and May. There were 73 reported incidents over the same months in 2008, a 68.5 percent jump.
